White House press secretary Jen Psaki dismissed a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy on why US companies with 100 or more employees are required to vaccinate workers but migrants at the southern border do not are not required to vaccinate.
“Our goal is to get as many people vaccinated as possible,” Psaki told Doocy when asked why illegal immigrants are not vaccinated but American workers will be forced to do so under President Biden’s tenure. “The president’s announcement yesterday was aimed at empowering businesses to give them the tools they need to protect their workforce. This is exactly what we did.

Doocy then squeezed Psaki again, saying, “Vaccines are needed for” people working in a company with more than 100 people. This is not an obligation for migrants at the border. Why?”
“That’s right,” Doocy replied.
About 30% of immigrants inmates in federal detention centers refuse to be vaccinated, and they have the option of refusing.

Meanwhile, more than 18% of migrant families who recently crossed the border tested positive for COVID before being released by border patrol. Another 20% of unaccompanied minors have tested positive for the virus.
Biden’s new rules for employers with more than 100 employees will be released by the Department of Labor, the president said. The president has also threatened heavy fines for employers who fail to meet the mandate.

“We have the tools to fight the virus if we come together to use these tools,” Biden said.
