Speaking at the press conference, Psaki was asked if Trump’s absence from social media platforms made Biden’s life easier because the former president was unable to push the GOP lawmakers to oppose the new administration’s initiatives, such as a COVID-19 relief package that is in limbo.

“It can be hard to believe, we don’t spend a lot of time talking or thinking about President Trump here – former President Trump, to be very clear,” Psaki said. “It’s a question that’s probably more relevant to Republican members looking for ways to support a bipartisan package, and if that gives them space.” But I can’t say we miss him on Twitter.

Biden will meet with Republican senators who are proposing a coronavirus reduction relief package on Monday afternoon, as the administration questions whether it should try to push through its much larger package without GOP support.

Trump has been remarkably silent amid Biden’s first major political fight in Washington.

Twitter and Facebook suspended Trump’s accounts after speaking to a crowd of supporters the day a pro-Trump mob attacked the U.S. Capitol building in an attempt to stop the electoral college vote count.
