CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Requirements for system upgrades and additional maintenance are included in orders that the State Civil Service Commission filed after a full service audit of Frontier Communications.

These deposits arrived on Friday.

In general, information from the PSC indicates that Frontier has committed to investing at least $ 200 million in system improvements in West Virginia by December 31, 2023.

Additionally, the company is committed to providing fiber optic service to at least 150,000 locations by December 31, 2027.

Failure to meet the deadlines will have consequences, according to the CPS.

Frontier filed for bankruptcy last year.

“These orders allow Frontier to proceed with its bankruptcy reorganization, emerge from a stronger corporate structure and make much-needed investments in West Virginia’s internet infrastructure,” said Charlotte Lane, president of the PSC, in a press release.

Numerous complaints about Frontier’s service prompted the PSC’s audit.
