Here is what Jordan Henderson did: "We are disappointed. We thought we were good enough to come here and win. It was not our night, but we continued to the end. Now we have to keep it in our hands by winning at Anfield. We did not start very well and they started quickly, which they knew would do it, so it is disappointing. But the reaction was good. We continued to fight until the end and caused them problems. Few problems, however, not much at all.
For the second time in two nights, one of the two best teams in the Premier League has struggled to match the intensity of a team of the much-maligned Ligue 1.
PSG has triumphed rightly, thanks to a performance in the first half too agile and fast for Liverpool, who has never shown the quality required to return to the game. This is another unfortunate performance of the Klopp team. They could save themselves by defeating Napoli 1-0 or two goals or more at Anfield in their last game. They will have to play a lot better than that to do it.
90 + 3 min: Neymar flips the ball over Shaqiri with a sumptuous talent but the Swiss recovers, to the chagrin of Neymar. But all the pay is at the end of Liverpool and he will be delighted, at least.
89 min: PSG are part of his defensive formation, challenging Liverpool to open them. Salah tries to wiggle around Kimpembe and is shot. Freekick in Liverpool about 25 meters. Where is Alexander-Arnold? Oh.
86 min: Silva and Marquinhos conspire to give the ball to Salah while he runs to the left. Then the jubilant Brazilians buzz and roar the chests in celebration.
Substitution of PSG: Rabiot lit, Mbappé turned off Rabiot is booed by some local supporters, likely because he announced that he would leave this summer after threatening to do it several times before.
84 min: Mbappé threatens to score on the counter but Robertson rushes to divert the shot for a corner. And Sturridge is accused of bringing Verratti back earlier in the movement to try to abandon him. The referee signaled to play but did not forget.
83 min: Shaqiri's freekick is delivered to Gomez at the last post but Kehrer nods for a corner. Before Shaqiri speaks, Verratti and Gomez talk about argy-bargy in the box. Then the corner is taken .. and erased.
81 min: Neymar pretends and passes Gomez in the left corner of the Liverpool box. Van Dijk rushes and slips to stop the Brazilian. PSG screams for a penalty, but the referee points the ball to indicate that this is what Van Dijk has touched.
72 min: Another break in the game while another PSG player requires treatment / a rest. It will be interesting to see how many minutes the referee adds to the end.
70 minLiverpool was slightly improved in the second half but PSG dropped further. They failed to maintain the intensity of their first half and became careless and a little ragged. So, even though Liverpool has not been very creative, it still has a chance to reverse the situation.
69 min: Neymar passes a short corner to Dani Alves. Mane the breeze. But the PSG wins another. This time, Neymar sends a beautiful ball towards the penalty spot. Marquinhos gets up majestically and beats Lovren to give a head to the goal. Allison reacts smartly to push him away.
63 min: Milner, who has been all over the world, joins a determined Liverpool movement. But his attempt to open the defense with a low ball to Mane fails when Kehrer intercepts.
60 min: Mané hits the ball off Verratti in midfield. Liverpool growls. Robertson crosses a Firmino center on the left but fails to direct his head to a 15-yard target.
57 min: Kimpembe is almost idling on the back. After dispossessing Salah, he turned directly to Firmino. But he recovered in time to erase. This is a decent spell for Liverpool, with PSG looking a little squeaky.
55 min: Liverpool wins the ball in the half of PSG field. Salah passes to Mané, who falls under Silva's touch. But it was a fair challenge. Liverpool must manage with a corner. Silva clears that too.
49 minA hint of openness for Liverpool after Wijnaldum unleashed a left pass to Milner on the right. Milner sorted to drag it to Fimrino in the box. But Silva cuts it.
46 min: The same alignments are back for the second half, surprisingly. Klopp obviously hopes that a team discussion will do more to improve his team than an injection of one or two new players.
In the other match of this group, Napoli leads 2-0 at home against Red Star. If the Italians win this victory and Liverpool does not win here, Klopp's team will have to beat Napoli by at least two goals in their last group match. This would allow them to qualify despite the loss of their three away games.
Milner's penalty just before the break is a very interesting second period. PSG was far superior for most first – faster, more accurate, more skillful – but a ridiculous tackle from Di Maria as a result of Mané's nice strike helped Liverpool reduce his deficit. But they will have to do a lot more to get one point or more of this game. Shaqiri is necessary, to start.
Milner sends Buffon in the wrong direction and the ball in the corner. Spotkick perfect. Is this the stepping stone of an unlikely second half fight return?
44 minMané wins the ball in the middle of the field and passes the next two innings before being knocked down by a wild tackle from Di Maria. Tee ref points a corner, but under the intense lobbying of Liverpool players and the intervention of one of the assistants, points to the place!
42 minRobertson is punished for tapping Di Maria's ankle. At least he was in the opposing half – he has hardly been there all match up until now; PSG neutralized the threat of its explosions on the flank.
40 min: Kimpembe plays a loose pass from the back directly to Henderson, who sends a cross … out of the game. "Every time I see a game played at the Parc des Princes, the boy is traumatized by the total robbery of Leeds in the 1975 European Cup final, "laments Justin Kavanagh. "And to make things worse tonight, the teams are wearing red and all white bands … aaaagh, I can not look!"
38 minLiverpool is seriously upset because PSG has them exactly where they want them. They play Liverpool effectively at their own game, which allows them to have the ball halfway, then trim it and tear themselves forward. And you can imagine, one of the reasons they are happy to let Liverpool hold the ball is because they know that Liverpool does not have enough creative players to use against a solid defense. Shaqiri has been missed.
