PSVR 2 controllers revealed

Sony has released photos of the manual controllers for the second iteration of the PSVR system – this one designed for the PS5 console and is expected to arrive in 2022 or 2023.

While the updated headset, new features and games remain under wraps, the controllers have now been detailed. The original of course used the older PS Move wands with a glowing ball on each end.

The new controllers are more like the Oculus Quest 2, albeit with slightly larger and more elaborate wrist protection / tracking, and are designed to reduce strain on hand movements with better ergonomics and better balance. .

They’ll also include two of the key features of the PS5’s DualSense controllers – namely haptic feedback and adaptive triggers – along with finger touch detection.

The new headset is expected to have a single-cord setup to improve ease of use as well as better resolution, better field of view, tracking, and input. It will likely be unveiled later this year.
