PUBG: Battlegrounds new map Taego includes self-revive and returns

PUBG is back with its first new map in a while, and it’s set in Korea. The new map, Taego, is part of the game’s 12.2 update, which also adds an element of self-reanimation, a mini-battle royale to get you back into a match after you die, and dozens of other changes. .

Taego is an 8 km by 8 km map located in the Korean countryside. PUBG The head of the in-game unit, Taehyun Kim, said in an email interview with Polygon that the purpose of this map was to show players the beauty of Korea, especially around the 1980s and 1990s.

The map is full of villages, towns, and even a maximum security prison for players to explore. Most importantly, for all the players who missed PUBGbigger maps of, Taego has tons of open terrain to fight.

But while its size might conform to that of PUBG cards, some of Taego’s other features are totally new to the game. For example, the game’s new self-revive element, which allows downed players to get up, is very different from anything in the Battle game. Royale has offered so far.

Taego also has a new mechanic called Comeback BR ​​which will give players eliminated in the first blue zone a chance to redeem. During the BR Comeback – which is only available in Duo and Taego Squad matches – players who die during the first blue zone will be transported to the Comeback Arena, where they will attempt to survive a timer in a mini BR match. If they survive the timer, they will revert to the normal match.

This is a brand new mechanic for PUBG, but one that Kim says has been demanded by gamers for quite some time now.

“We have often seen the feedback we need to find a method to reduce the frustration of defeated players early in the game,” Kim told ServerPlay. “We also felt that there should be some changes in the meta that have been fixed. Comeback BR ​​was developed to ease players’ frustration and help them quickly join their squad and win a Chicken Dinner after their return.
