PUBG update adds long-requested vehicle functionality

[ad_1]

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Players can finally get into the driver’s seat of a vehicle and shoot from that position thanks to the latest Battle Royale game update. The notes for the update which is now available on the game’s test servers give players the ability to shoot enemies while driving a vehicle instead of just being the escape driver and hoping that their teammates can cover them. The vehicle’s aiming system has also been revised to affect all players in vehicles, not just drivers.

The new vehicle functionality has been described in the patch notes for Patch 9.2 which is now on test servers and will be available on live servers at a later date. Gamers have been asking for this feature for some time now, and it’s finally available to some ahead of its wide release later.

“It has been requested for a long time and we are finally happy to add shooting functionality to vehicle drivers!” patch notes for the PUBG update said. The new system allows you to fire handguns while driving and maintaining control of the vehicle (albeit with a slightly reduced response when reloading). This feature works for most vehicles and there are some limitations which you can read below. We’re excited to see the new types of gameplay that will emerge from these additions, and let us know how you feel! “

There are some restrictions on vehicle fire though, so don’t expect to remove all weapons from the driver’s seat to unload on enemies. The notes governing how this feature works can be viewed below through the Release Notes:

Vehicle shooting

  • Vehicle drivers can now shoot, reload and fire handguns while having full control over vehicle entrances.
    • The power of the vehicle’s steering input decreases slightly as the driver recharges.
  • The driver capture feature is enabled in all vehicles except boats and BRDM.

Revision of the aim of the vehicle

  • Driver and passenger views are now strongly stabilized when aiming. The rotation of the camera will not follow the rotation of the vehicle.
  • The driver and passenger TPP cameras have been adjusted and brought closer to the character for easier and more precise aiming.
  • Sighting angles are limited depending on the player’s visibility and relationship with other passengers
    • For example, you cannot aim fully up in a closed top vehicle or aim behind if there is a passenger behind you in a 2 seater motorcycle
  • The camera will no longer tilt to the side when vehicles are rolling or overturning.
  • Please see below for Pilot Activated Handguns.
    • Deagle
    • P18C
    • P1911
    • P92
    • R1895
    • R45
    • Skorpion
    • Flare gun
    • Saw
    • Sawing can only be equipped by drivers on Bike type vehicles.

PUBG the latest update is now available on the game’s test servers.
