FORT MYERS, Fla .– Online COVID vaccination registration through Publix opened with 24,000 appointments statewide on January 21.
All available appointments for Lee, Charlotte and Collier County have been booked as of Friday, January 22. Appointments will be available again on Wednesday Jan. 27 at 6 a.m., Publix officials said.
Publix said it actively engages with customers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Customers can also call the Publix hotline at 1-800-242-1227.
Publix claims that more than a quarter of a million people came to their site to try to register. Since Governor DeSantis first announced that Publix would offer the vaccines, thousands of people have tried to register without success.
Cecil Macrae was one of the lucky few to get an appointment for a vaccine from Publix.
