Purdue Pharma declares bankruptcy amid numerous lawsuits for opioid epidemics

Purdue Pharma, the company that has made billions of dollars selling OxyContin, a prescription painkiller, filed for bankruptcy late at night. The move came just days after Purdue reached a tentative agreement with many state and local governments on the opioid epidemic in communities across the country.
