Pete Alonso seems to be doing the story everyday.
This time, he did it by recording the circuit hit hardest by a Met in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Braves. According to MLB Statcast, his two-run defense in the seventh inning, which ran 454 feet, had an exit speed of 118.3 miles at the time.
Statcast is tied for the 9th toughest game ever, and the only two players to hit more home runs by Statcast are the Yankees. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge.
"I have to do some more pushups," joked Alonso when he was informed of the statistics. "It's really cool, being in the same category as these two guys, that means a lot, they're two of the most powerful power hitters in the game right now."
There is Stanton.

Alonso tried to describe how he felt about hitting a ball so hard and far.
"Honestly, when you get a ball like that, you do not even feel it," he said. "You have that strange feeling, I can not really explain it, you do not feel the ball of your bat, you just hear the sound and it's okay."
The ball had a burst of landing in the fountain beyond the center wall of the Atlanta field.
"To see it fall in the water, it's like, wow … it's cool.I surprised myself to be honest," said Alonso.
Alonso now has six homers, 17 RBIs, an average of, 378 and a score of 1.362.
"Most of the time, our jaws are dropped and we're going, 'Wow, you do not see that stuff," said Mickey Callaway. "He's doing something special every night."
