QAnon-linked congresswoman to file articles of impeachment against Biden on January 21

Georgia Republican MP Marjorie Taylor Greene said on Wednesday she would file articles of impeachment against President-elect Joe Biden the day after Biden’s scheduled inauguration.

Greene, a freshman rep, has in the past expressed public support for conspiracy theories adopted by QAnon. The staunch ally of outgoing President Donald Trump voted against his second impeachment on Wednesday. “On January 21, 2021, I will file articles of indictment against Joe Biden for abuse of power,” Greene tweeted, adding the hashtags, “#ImpeachBiden”, “#QuidProJoe” and “BidenCrimeFamilly”.

In an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, Greene said, “On behalf of the American people, we must ensure that our leaders are held accountable. We cannot have a President of the United States willing to abuse the power of the presidency and be easily bought out by foreign governments, Chinese energy companies, Ukrainian energy companies. “

Greene has been known for her public support for QAnon, a conspiracy movement that believes Trump is waging a secret war against a global cadre of Satan-worshiping pedophile human traffickers.

Greene then distanced herself from her pro-QAnon comments, telling Fox News in August 2020 that “once I started finding misinformation, I decided to take another path.”

Greene’s support for Trump continued as the president repeatedly claimed the election was stolen from him by Democrats. In December, Greene announced that she would join other GOP members in opposing Congress certifying Biden’s victory.
