BALTIMORE – Lamar Jackson set a new standard for the double threat quarterbacks in the Baltimore Ravens' 23-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Jackson produced the highest number of all-time (120) rushing yards for a player who has thrown more than 250 yards in the same game, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Asked what opposing defenses can do when Jackson launches and operates effectively, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said: "It will be a real puzzle for [opposing defenses]. It will be a real challenge for them to understand that. "
On his ninth start in the NFL, Jackson became the sixth player since the merger in 1970 to record at least 250 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in a single game. He joins Cam Newton (who has done it three times), Colin Kaepernick, Marcus Mariota, Russell Wilson and Michael Vick.
Jackson, however, was visibly upset during most of his post-match press conference.

"I prefer to throw," said Jackson. "It's my job, just give the ball to my guys, I'd rather throw than run."
Jackson went on to assert that he could be an effective smuggler in the NFL with another record.
Jackson launched his seventh touchdown pass in just his fifth shift this year, surpassing his total (six) of last season. It also counts as the highest number of touchdowns in the team's first two games in franchise history.
After making five touchdowns in three quarterfinals last Sunday, Jackson made a tight 27-yard pass. Mark Andrews and forward Hayden Hurst scored a goal in the first half this week.
Jackson made his seventh touchdown pass on his 36th pass attempt of the season. Last season, Jackson recorded six touchdowns on 170 attempts.
"It was good to see how much he had progressed compared to last year," said linebacker Terrell Suggs, who is now with the Cardinals. "He's an NFL quarterback now, and he's phenomenal."
Jackson improved to 8-1 as a starting quarterback. Only 12 other quarterbacks of the Super Bowl era started their career 8-1 or better on nine starts.
