In the wake of NVIDIA's announcement of its latest Quadro professional GPUs, Razer is leveraging this new technology to offer new workstation notebooks based on their popular blade models with the Razer Blade 15 and 17 Studio Edition models. The new professional notebooks offer the classic Razer machined aluminum chassis by CNC, add new hardware, new screens and end with a beautiful mercury white finish.
The Razer Blade 15 Studio Edition will be offered with an UHD OLED touch screen. To meet the needs of professionals, it will be available with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of NVMe storage. The 15-inch model will feature the Intel Core i7-9750H processor, with six cores, twelve threads and a frequency range of 2.6 GHz to 4.5 GHz. On the graphics side, the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 is running and the laptop will be loaded with NVIDIA studio drivers, formerly known as Creator Ready drivers and optimized for professional workflows such as Cinema 4D and Adobe products.
The Razer Blade Pro 17 Studio Edition takes the 17-inch Blade model and updates it with a new 120 Hz UHD display. With the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000, the 17-inch version incorporates the Core i9-9880H, which offers eight cores, sixteen threads and a frequency range from 2.3 GHz to 4.8 GHz.
Both laptops will work with the external Razer Core X GPU on Thunderbolt 3 as well, if you have workloads that take advantage of the dual GPU benefits.
We are waiting for Razer's full specifications, but I would expect both devices to offer at least Adobe RGB, which Razer is already offering on several of their other laptops.
The new Studio Edition laptops will be available later this year, and prices will be determined before launch.
