Back in December, former South Carolina quarterback Ryan hilinski entered the NCAA transfer portal. On Tuesday, he announced where he would continue his college career.
Hilinski, a former four-star rookie, spent the past two years in South Carolina before deciding to explore other options. Now Hilinsky has made up his mind, and he announced on Twitter that he would transfer to Northwestern before the 2021 season.
“The journey of life has unexpected peaks and valleys,” Hilinski said in a statement posted to social media. “I am grateful for every step I was able to take. As a true freshman in 2019, Hilinski showed some promise by making 58.1% of his throws for 2,357 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Hilinski was a four-star rookie and the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the signing class of 2019, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
