EXCLUSIVE: As in any marriage, Queen Elizabeth II sometimes gets angry with her husband.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward recently published a book on the Duke of Edinburgh titled ‘Prince Philip Revealed: A Biography’, which takes a closer look at the life of the 99-year-old.
The British author is the editor of Majesty magazine. The 72-year-old has covered the British royal family since the 1980s and has written more than 20 books on the subject. For his latest outing, Seward spoke with many close friends and associates of Prince Philip.
Seward told Fox News that one of his favorite moments to explore was when Elizabeth, 94, was royally angry with her spouse.

The couple were on a royal tour of Australia in 1954 when they had a rare weekend to themselves. However, the exhausted couple were also filming a documentary about their visit. According to Seward, spirits were rising high.
“Their mood was very frayed,” she explained. “This film crew was standing in front of their little vacation villa. Next thing they knew, Prince Philip appeared on the balcony, followed by a tennis racquet and a pair of tennis shoes thrown at his head. The queen came out and shouted for him to come back. She then grabbed [Philip] and brought him back inside. Of course, you can imagine how absolutely terrified this kind of obnoxious publicist at the time was.
Seward claimed the royal press secretary asked the crew to turn off their cameras or they would be arrested.
“He ran over to the team and said, ‘We can’t have this on film,’ Seward said. “‘It’s a disaster. Give me your movie. You weren’t supposed to shoot this.'”

According to Seward, the film was handed over to Elizabeth. She came out later to meet the crew and thanked them.
“I’m sorry for this little interlude,” she reportedly said. “But as you know, it happens in every marriage, doesn’t it?
Seward pointed out that it’s no secret that the royal couple, married for 73 years, have had their fair share of feuds.
“He was pretty sharp with his wife,” she said. “He was speeding everywhere, which made her very nervous. So she started to take deep breaths. He would then say to her: “If you keep breathing like that, I’ll get you out of the car.” There was a time when a person sitting next to her would say, “Why don’t you tell her? She said, “Because I know he’ll stop the car and kick me out!” “

“But the Queen is giving it back just as much,” Seward said. “He called her a fool and accused her of talking nonsense. She will then speak in riddles as he tries to figure out what she is talking about.
Princess Elizabeth at the time married Lt. Philip Mountbatten at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947, in Britain physically and economically ravaged by World War II. She became queen in 1952. Philip spent the following decades supporting his wife in her role as head of state.
Seward said Philip’s dedication to duty was the secret to their lasting marriage.
“I think it’s very difficult to know what a marriage secret between two people is,” she explained. “But I think for them he decided that his job and his duty was to support her – it’s global work. Philip decided he had to support the institution of the monarchy, which means looking after the Queen at all times. He is aware that people only want royals if they can respect them. So it became very important to him.

Philip retired from public office in 2017. He was the patron, president or a member of over 780 organizations, including many charities. He has given 5,496 speeches, written 14 books, and made 637 solo visits abroad, in addition to hundreds of trips with Elizabeth.
