Queen has just one dog left after her name dorgi dies Vulcan.
queen elizabethWindsor dog died at Windsor Castle – according to Buckingham Palace – where she and Prince philip remained in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 94-year-old British monarch is known for her love of dogs, and Vulcan was one of 4 who appeared with her in a series of portraits photographed for her 90th birthday by the famous photographer Annie leibovitz.
Vulcan’s death leaves her with just Candies, another dorgi, after a lifetime of owning multiple corgis and dorgis since receiving a corgi named Susan for his 18th birthday.
Although her last purebred corgi which was a descendant of Susan died in 2018, the queen is said to have engineered the dorgi – corgi and dachshund mix – years ago by breeding her corgis with her late sister. Princess Margaretdachshunds.
Bottom line, the lady loves her puppies and has been pictured enjoying their company for decades. However, in 2015, she declared that she didn’t want to have dogs anymore for fear of leaving a young dog behind … so Candy could be her last pet.
Sadly, news of Vulcan’s death comes weeks after Prince william and Kate lost their family dog also … a named cocker spaniel Wolf.
Doggone disappointment.
