Queen Elizabeth II traveled to Balmoral for a break after becoming “incredibly tired” in recent weeks, according to a report yesterday. A Sun source said, “She couldn’t wait to get away. According to “The Making of a Royal Romance” by Katie Nicholl, the Queen wanted William to refrain from proposing to Kate until she had established a career.
Ms Nicholl wrote: “In private, she [the Queen] had serious concerns and believed Kate needed to have a full job and identity before her engagement was announced.
“She [the Queen] is one of the hardest-working royals, despite her age, and that a future member of the royal family was out of a full-time job was unacceptable to her.

The Queen has also reportedly advised Kate to get involved in some charity work and the Duchess has started working for Starlight, which helps terminally ill children.
In 2007, the couple briefly separated but reunited soon after and married in 2011.
Camilla Parker-Bowles would also have wanted the eldest son of Prince Charles to break with Kate “pretty but weak”, in part because of his roots “humble”.
