Queen Latifah throws herself into character as former CIA member turned vigilante in action-packed trailer for The Equalizer
Queen Latifah has clearly remained busy in recent months.
On January 9, a promotional trailer for his upcoming series The Equalizer was posted on the show’s official Twitter account.
The remake of the action drama series is slated to air on CBS, which also hosted the original 1980s show.

The trailer begins with Latifah, who plays Robyn McCall, walking around with her daughter Delilah, played by Laya DeLeon.
When asked why she abruptly quit her job a month ago, a series of quick photos is shown showing Latifah working out in a gym and outside on a street, and the 50-year-old actress replies: ‘ “ It’s complicated ”.
Another montage of shots is seen, many of which show the Grammy-winning singer holding a gun during an operation with other people, and she ends up finding a number of young women hiding in a closet.
She is then seen talking to former CIA Director William Bishop, played by Chris Noth, who informs her that the agency is resuming vigilante activities, to which she replies that she is not. no longer under their jurisdiction.

Latifah is then confronted with one of her friends who asks her if she is: “a kind of ex-cop”, to which she replies that she has become: “the one you call when you can’t call 911”.
A brief physical exchange is then seen where she pushes a criminal against a wall, much to her surprise, and the sequence ends then.
A graphic of fluorescent lights is then shown, along with the series’ release date of February 7, right after the Super Bowl.
The post-Super Bowl time slot is one of the most coveted spots in television programming, and many major networks use the time to broadcast a special episode of an existing series or create an entirely new one.

Development of the remake series was originally announced in November 2019 with Latifah as executive producer of the series.
After a pilot order was given by CBS in January last year, the production team began preparing to begin filming in March before being delayed by the onset of the global pandemic; filming finally began later in the year.

The Equalizer had previously been made into a 2014 film starring Denzel Washington and Chloe Grace Moretz; the project received mixed reviews but was a box office success.
The Washington-led film spawned a 2018 sequel, which also performed well financially.
Stay Safe: Filming for the series was originally scheduled to begin in March, but the impact of the global pandemic on the television industry has forced filming to be delayed for several months.
