(6/3/2019) – Nearly 12 million people who have used Quest Diagnostics for lab tests may have had their account compromised.
A billing service provider, who manages the data for Quest, said that someone had access to his system containing personal information.
Laboratory test results are not part of this system, but it could mean that other personal information, such as social security numbers and medical information, has been viewed.
Until we know more, Quest Diagnostics will stop using this data management provider and patients whose data has been compromised will be contacted by the companies.
