Long queues at Tyler Perry’s Thanksgiving gift

ATLANTA – As of Sunday morning, the lines to Tyler Perry Studios extended for miles in several directions as people waited patiently for non-perishable goods and gift cards.
The event was called #TPSGiving and promised to feed 5,000 families on Sunday between 8 am and noon.
“While we wish we could feed everyone in need, we will close the line for the 5,000th family,” the description of the event read, prompting the early arrival of hundreds of cars.
FOX 5 spoke with the first person in line, Jeanette Walton, who arrived at 3pm – 3pm on Saturday. She said the need was greater than ever and admitted that she had never waited overnight for a food drive.
“I have been blessed where my job has allowed me to work from home, but I still had other family members who lost their jobs and had to move in,” Walton explained. “That’s really why I’m here because when you have to shoulder the burden of others, you find yourself in need.
The food drive is different from previous years, organized as a driving event to help curb the spread of the virus.

People are encouraged to wear their masks when communicating with volunteers, and TPS limits each car to two families.
It’s one of the media mogul’s generous efforts this year.
Tyler Perry tipped $ 21,000 to waiters at one of his favorite troubled restaurants during the pandemic and took notes for high-risk and senior shoppers at 44 Krogers on the Atlanta subway.
