Rabies Alert regarding the Epcot area issued by the Florida Department of Health

The Orange County Health Department in Florida has issued an official rabies alert at Walt Disney World.

The area under alert extends within a radius of three kilometers around the intersection of Epcot Center Drive and Interstate 4. The rabies alert is in effect for 60 days or longer. until new order.

According to the official statement, a wildcat caught near the area has been tested positive for rabies. The statement warns against contact with animals found in the area, including wildcats, stray dogs and wild mammals (such as raccoons, squirrels, skunks and coyotes). This is not the time to practice your Disney princess skills!

If you or someone you know in the area has been bitten, immediately contact Orange County Animal Services at (407) 254-9150. Also make sure all pets have been vaccinated.
