Gerry Callahan, a long-time radio host, said he was leaving WEEI.

"It was fun. After 20 years of morning driving, I did my last show on WEEI this morning. Thank you to everyone who listened. Unfortunately, it's not a movie. Sometimes the bad guys win. Much more to come, "said Friday the WEEI sports conference host in a tweet.

A spokesperson for Entercom, the parent company of WEEI, said in a statement to the Herald that Callahan "was a dominant force and a big part of WEEI over the years. As the time has come to move to a new chapter, we thank him for his many contributions and the indelible mark he has made at WEEI, particularly for his tireless work on behalf of Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. We wish him the best in his future projects. "

The company has announced that "The Greg Hill Morning Show" – currently airing on sister station WAAF – will replace the morning show "Mut & Callahan" as of Monday, July 29th.

Mike "Mut" Mutnansky will return to the evening, a position he once held, the company said.

Callahan was a columnist at the Herald before going on radio. He had already co-hosted the show alongside Kirk Minihane, who had left the station in November 2018.
