Rafael Reyna, 47 years old and father of four, is in intensive care after a fight with another man in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium on Friday night left it with a fractured skull, according to Amy Powell of ABC7.com.
"He was hit and his head hit the ground and caused a fractured skull, now his brain is swelling," his wife, Christel Reyna, said. "It bleeds to the brain. "
"I heard the debates unfold, and then I heard like a slap, a crack," she added, pointing out that she was on the phone with Rafael at the time. "It looked like a baseball bat, and then I heard it moan."
The Dodgers released a statement on ESPN.com on Saturday:
"Last night, an altercation occurred suddenly between two men coming out of the stadium.One of them was injured as a result of this altercation.A witness immediately reported the altercation. incident at the stadium staff and emergency medical technicians were quickly dispatched The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this case and the Dodgers are cooperating fully in the investigation.
According to Powell, the suspect reportedly left the premises in aWhite SUV, maybe a Toyota 4Runner. "
Rafael Reyna is currently at the LAC + USC Medical Center with family members.
