A raccoon caught in the Green Tree District of Pittsburgh has been tested positive for rabies, confirmed the county health department of Allegheny. This is the third raging animal reported in Allegheny County in 2019. There were two raccoons and a bat. The raccoon was found near block 1500 of Glencoe Avenue. The health department reminds residents to always avoid stray and wild animals, even if they look healthy, to avoid exposure to rabies. If an animal seems to be acting strangely or becomes threatening, inform your local animal control department, police or the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
