The Raiders’ new black hole will literally be just that in 2020, with no fans in the stands at Allegiant Stadium. So apparently the Raiders need a new nickname for where they play.
Owner Mark Davis leaves with “Death Star”. Apparently because he never looked Star wars movies until the end.
“Welcome to the Death Star, where our opponent’s dreams come to death,” Davis told the team as they trained there for the first time, via the Las Vegas Journal-Review. “My dad always said the Raiders’ greatness was in his future. Well, today that future really begins. This magnificent stadium was built on the backs of thousands of players, coaches, administrators and fans who over the past 60 years proudly wear the Silver and Black.
Coach Jon Gruden was delighted with the team’s new home.
“I can’t wait to share this with the city of Vegas and sports and entertainment fans around the world,” said Gruden. “It’s a one-of-a-kind joint. We just need to keep hammering this virus in the grass and opening these doors for people to enjoy like we have today. Spectacular. A place out of sight. It has everything you can imagine.
Hopefully it doesn’t have a thermal exhaust port.
