Raiders sign guard Jonathan Cooper

ALAMEDA, California – The Oakland Raiders signed a contract with the free agent Jonathan Cooper, the club announced Monday.

Cooper signed with the Raiders after five seasons in the NFL with the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals. He has appeared in 46 career games with 31 starts. Cooper had originally entered the league with the Cardinals as the first round pick (seventh overall) in 2013.

Last season, this 6-foot-2, 308-pounder played in all four games he played for Washington after spending the off-season with the San Francisco 49ers.

Cooper set a career-high 14 games in 2015 with Arizona and started all 13 games in his only season with Dallas in 2017.

A native of Wilmington, Nc, Cooper set a school record with 48 games for North Carolina in left-guard. Selected three times in the All-ACC team, Cooper won the All-American First Team Trophy as a Senior and was named a recipient of the 2012 Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the best CCA lineman .

In a corresponding move, the Raiders gave up WR Montay Crockett.
