In an exclusive interview with the Establish The Pass podcast on ClutchPoints, Las Vegas Raiders Pro Bowler Darren Waller spoke about the team being within striking distance of the Kansas City Chiefs, their growing chemistry with Derek Carr as one of the most explosive duos in the NFL. , his impressive place in the Raider record books in just two full seasons, his music career, his work with the community, his favorite Jon Gruden saying, and more.

When Waller was just trying to snap photos with the Raiders in 2018, Derek Carr took him under his wing. Three years later, they’ve grown into one of the most powerful duos in the entire NFL. Waller discussed their growing chemistry and hard work to get to this point.

“Yeah, it’s a relationship that started as soon as I got on the team,” Waller said. “Derek expressed his belief in me when I was playing scout cards when I got to the Raiders, telling me that I would be able to do great things. It’s just things like that that resonate, just being friends and having vulnerable conversations about life and things like that, it just turns into someone you don’t want to let go.

“With that connection, we’re able to have that dialogue where it’s like, ‘Okay, break that road here, not there.’ Coming at a certain point, we can have that dialogue together where it’s not, you know, he feels like he’s stepping on my toes or I feel like he’s stepping on his.

“We have this good dialogue and we work together,” Waller said. “Last year we didn’t allow the COVID excuses to take hold and we were throwing in parks all around, around Vegas, and we were getting down to business anyway. Just fine-tuning the timing and the repetitions of things pays off on Sunday because we try to do it every day. “
