ORLANDO, Florida – UPDATE: A previously issued severe thunderstorm warning for Volusia County expired at 11:15 am.
Hail, gusts of wind and heavy rains were among the threats to the region.

The following photo shows the hail at Daytona Beach covering the ground like snow.
FULL FORECAST
Scattered showers will take place on Saturday morning, but the morning will not be a total loss. Widespread rain arrives closer to lunchtime and continues through much of Saturday afternoon.
Scattered showers will continue into the hours leading up to dawn on Sunday.
High temperatures will not exceed the mid-60s on Saturday morning and drop to the low 60s for much of the afternoon. Lower 70s will still be possible in the early afternoon in the southern counties of Osceola and Brevard, where the rain resists the longest.

The weather will improve greatly on Sunday, but it will still be cool and windy. Sunshine will increase for the afternoon with highs around 70 degrees. A gradual warm-up returns next week.
Improvements in the allergic situation will be likely as this system moves in and out of central Florida.
Pollen numbers start to rise again early next week.
