Rami Malek has revealed that he once got a little personal when meeting the royals at an awards ceremony, leaving Kate Middleton a little ‘bewildered’ by his line of questioning.
The actor, who reunited with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge at the premiere of “No Time to Die” last week, spoke of the experience on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Tuesday.
“They work so hard to get to know everyone,” Malek told Kimmel of his meeting with the royal family. “Who’s done any movie they’ve made, their past movies, and you can see they’ve done their homework. I just looked at Princess Kate at one point and said, “This must be exhausting.” And she said, “Why? ”
“I said, ‘You just had a baby, didn’t you? “,” said the actor, referring to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcoming their third child, Prince Louis, in 2018. “I think she was surprised.”
“She said, ‘How are you?’ I said, ‘No, how are you?’ And in the most majestic and elegant way she glanced at me, ”Malek said, mimicking the Duchess’s gaze. “But you can tell. Imagine, you are dressed to the nines, you have to talk to all these actors … “
Malek said he volunteered as a babysitter for the Duke and Duchess’s children.
Kimmel pointed out that after Malek’s last role as Bond villain, he would likely have a hard time landing a babysitting job – and with the royals, no less.
In an interview with “Daily Pop” from E! this week, the “Bohemian Rhapsody” star said it seemed like the royals had enjoyed the latest installment in the Bond franchise.
“I sat right behind them in the royal box. I was watching Prince William’s reaction, ”he continued.“ You can see a lot from what someone’s body language was doing. I think they loved the movie. is the impression I had. ”
Given Malek’s willingness to account for the royals, he might find them a little reluctant to open up to him at the next premiere or awards show.
