Rams and QB Blake Bortles accept the terms of a one-year contract

Now in Los Angeles, Bortles plays the role of experienced second caller for the Rams. Bortles played 75 games (including 73 at the start), completing 59.3% of his passes for 17,646 yards with 103 touchdowns and a score of 80.6 for smugglers. Bortles scored 35 touchdown passes in 2015 as a sophomore and helped the Jaguars lead the AFC championship game in 2017.

Because the Jaguars released Bortles last week when the club signed quarterback Nick Foles, Bortles is not counted in the compensatory formula for 2020. Although the Rams lost left-hander Rodger Saffold and Guardian Lamarcus Joyner at liberty, they signed only veterans in the open market who were released from their previous contracts at Bortles and security Eric Weddle. The club also signed a one – year contract with outside linebacker Dante Fowler.

The Rams should open their off-season schedule in mid-April.
