Johnny Hekker has officially won the Rams punters’ battle against Corey Bojorquez. After there was speculation Hekker could be traded or deleted, Los Angeles actually parted ways with Bojorquez on Tuesday, just at 4 p.m. ET.
The Rams trade Bojorquez for the Packers, according to Tom Pelissero. It’s a surprising last-minute decision, but one that keeps Hekker in Los Angeles for a 10th season.

It’s a win-win for the Rams, who retain a four-time All-Pro at Hekker and also pick up something in return for Bojorquez, who they signed on to a one-year contract this offseason.
It’s not a huge comeback, but they go from the seventh round to the sixth round of the 2023 draft.
LA ram trade:
• To the Green Bay Packers: P Corey Bojorquez + 2023 7th (via Detroit)
• At the Los Angeles Rams: 2023 6th (Original)– Los Angeles Rams (@RamsNFL) August 31, 2021
Bojorquez has been impressive in the preseason, especially with his 70-yard bombshell against the Broncos on Saturday night, doing enough to grab the attention of the Packers in their search for a new punter.
