Update 2 [Sat 2nd Jan, 2021 04:45 GMT]: The expected Edge Spotlighting issue Hollow Knight: Song of Silk is now available.
An article on ResetEra shared some of the highlights. Unfortunately, there is still no release date, so keep an eye out for that going forward. There are other interesting details there, however.
– Team Cherry’s next match will not be linked to Hollow Knight
– Team Cherry as Castlevania Lords of Shadow!
– Hornet will have the ability to perform tasks for NPCs, keep track of the tasks you have completed through the bulletin boards around Pharloom.
– Do not replace the organic quest lines of the first Hollow Knight.
– Instead of saving Grub from the jars, now you save the fleas, which end up in small pieces.
– Hornet badges are fully customizable, can be easily changed to reflect your play style.
– Try to create a game that is accessible to new players, but also matches the difficulty of the original game.
– “ Tricks ” such as Sting Fragments, Pimpillo Bombs, Straight Pins, can be crafted on benches from shards collected from defeated enemies.
– The objective of the game is to go up to the Citadel, but there will be “ many other lands ”
– Hollow Knight composer Christopher Larkin returns
– Start the game after losing a lot of your powers
– PC and Switch only at launch, release date to be confirmed.
Team Cherry also noted how Hornet is generally more acrobatic (via GamesRadar):
“Hornet can travel much faster, she can jump higher, she can cover herself or climb ledges, she is generally more acrobatic. So the caves around her have to grow larger to accommodate her size.”
And the enemies of the new entry are also more sophisticated than those of Hollow Knight:
โThe characters in this game are kind of a step beyond that, where it doesn’t quite feel right to be that simple. For example, they must have some surprising ways of chasing you, of you. follow, or evade your attacks. “
Update [Thu 24th Dec, 2020]: The prediction was correct!
Original story [Mon 14th Dec, 2020 04:15 GMT]: the Edge Online Twitter Account recently shared a tweet about the next issue of his magazine (released December 31) and he sent Hollow Knight fans in absolute frenzy.
As you can see in the reply tweet below, the image shown is believed to be a close-up of Hornet. This character, in case you didn’t know, is the star of the upcoming Hollow Knight sequel, Hollow Knight: Song of Silk.
Edge editor Jen Simpkins added to this, telling her followers to “Git … hype“for this” world exclusive “- which, as Hollow Knight fans have noted, is an interesting choice of words. She also replied to a number of tweets referring to Hornet and Hollow Knight, and even said to some subscribers that they are “very close“.
The last time Team Cherry provided an update on Silksong was earlier this year, when it announced that the game would launch when it was ready. Do you think the Hollow Knight fans are on to something? Tell us below.
