Earlier this week, a Twitter user spotted Marina from Splatoon 2 on the Xbox One dashboard in the Mixer section. As you may know, Mixer is a Microsoft-owned live streaming platform for all types of video games across multiple platforms.
The timing was really odd, following the recent wave of rumors linking Microsoft Xbox services to Nintendo. While Marina was not convincing enough, Liam Robertson, a Nintendo Life collaborator, video game historian and industry insider, shared a new video. via Twitter, showing not one, but several Nintendo characters on the Xbox One Mixer Banner. This includes works by characters from Isabelle, Princess Peach, Lucina and Inkling Girl from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Take a look at the evidence below:
As we have already noted, Mixer hosts all types of video games on all gaming platforms. As to why these specific Nintendo characters are, it's probably because it's International Women's Day, March 8th, as some of the responses to the tweet have indicated.
