Randy Spelling, the son of late television producer Aaron Spelling, left Hollywood to save himself.
The 42-year-old struggled to deal with the pressure he felt from Tinseltown to build an empire like his “legend” of a father did by producing mega-hit shows such as “Beverly Hills, 90210” , “Charlie’s Angels”, “Dynasty,” and “Melrose Place”.
“I think I took it as a self-imposed … I must be something big and [I thought]“Well, I guess greatness comes from being famous or as an actor or a producer,” that’s how I tried to find it. And then I realized I had to fight my way because if I didn’t, it would kill me, ”Spelling told Page Six.
Instead, Spelling walked away from his father and sister Tori Spelling’s footsteps on television and began a career as a life coach after going to rehab in 2006 following his father’s death.

“I was just trying to fill myself up in any way I could and started filling up with bad stuff and I ended up in addiction,” he admitted.

“So I went to rehab and after thinking, ‘My God, I have this second chance, who do I want to be? What makes me happy? Why am I here? ‘ And all these existential questions that I really set out on a path to answer. “
Today, years later, Spelling enjoys working with a variety of clients with unique needs.

“I’ve been on both sides of the coin, having everything to be very concerned, ‘How am I going to make this happen for my family?’ and I can tell you that happiness doesn’t come from money, ”he says. “It can bring less stress and offer more choice, but I work with people who have very little and CEOs and I can tell you that happiness has nothing to do with money.”

Spelling currently lives in Oregon with his wife Leah, whom he married in 2010. The couple share two daughters.
