Like any other type of fashion, the styles of wedding dresses are constantly changing.

High tops, backless dresses, and colorful fabrics have all become popular in recent years as many brides move away from more traditional wedding looks.

Brides have also adopted sheer wedding dresses in recent years, walking down the aisle in peek-a-boo or fully sheer dresses.

But Randy Fenoli, wedding dress designer and Kleinfeld Bridal consultant for ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ fame, told Insider he still hasn’t fallen in love with see-through wedding dresses.

“I can’t do without it,” Fenoli said of the sheer wedding dresses. “I’m 57 and I’m just a traditionalist.”

“I know if I had a girl walking down the aisle she wouldn’t be wearing a see-through dress,” he added.

Fenoli said he believes brides who choose sheer dresses approach wedding dresses with a different thought process than he does.

The wedding consultant told Insider that brides drawn to see-through or sexier dresses like to show off their figures at their weddings. “It’s just a different mentality,” he said.

Fenoli, who appears in season 19 of “Say Yes to the Dress” remotely from his Florida home due to the pandemic, went on to say that he believed the penchant for sheer wedding dresses made sense in the world of global fashion.

“It almost sounds like some sort of European feel,” Fenoli said of modern wedding dress tailoring, noting that Europe has often been ahead of America when it comes to accepting dresses. more daring looks.

“Our earth is getting smaller and more global and everyone is connecting on a larger scale,” he said. He believes bridal fashion reflects this global mentality.

While see-through dresses aren’t her favorite bridal style, Fenoli told Insider he just wants brides to find dresses that make them feel confident.

“My goal is always to help the bride choose the dress she feels the most beautiful in, because when she feels beautiful, she wears that dress like there is no other dress on the planet.” , did he declare.

“They know they are beautiful and everyone feels it,” he added. “It’s about the confidence you have in wearing the dress.”

You can watch the Season 19 premiere of “Say Yes To The Dress” Saturday on TLC at 8 p.m. ET.
