Rangers to designate the reddened scent for assignment, select Charlie Culberson

Rangers brief the infielder Rusty smell that he won’t be part of the team’s opening day roster, as NBC 5’s Pat Doney first reported (Twitter link). Odor will be nominated for the assignment, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram tweets. Texas still owe him $ 27 million over the next two seasons, and with more than five years of MLB service, he can still collect that salary even if he allows waivers and is released. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News tweets that the Rangers will select the veteran infielder contract Charlie culberson, who made the list.
