The Toptracer software may not be enough for the weekend. Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, both batters, are codirands of the 2019 Championship of players after 36 holes while both have lost less than 132 points in the first two days at TPC Sawgrass. For Fleetwood, he was 65-67. For McIlroy, it was the opposite, 67-65.
Add them all on Friday nights, however, and you get what should be a slugfest during the weekend from two of the best sports at the moment. Let's take a look at TPC Sawgrass's 36-hole standings.
1. Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood (-12): How do you follow a Thursday 65? If you are Fleetwood, you start on Friday with a 3-3-2. Fleetwood came out in 33 and came back in 34 with a naughty 18th birdie, and now he's where he was last week after 36 holes – sleeping in the lead. He seemed relaxed and ready to improve what he had done in the third round at Bay Hill.
"Growing up in Europe and playing in Europe, it's a different golf style here," Fleewood told Golf Channel. "It takes a while to get used to it." This definitely stretches your game. I've enjoyed it here since I came in. I like to go to work when I'm here. "
McIlroy closed as Fleetwood opened with a 3-2-4 ending day that could eventually propel him to his first title since Arnold Palmer 's invitation last year. After opening the day with a bogey, he played the next 17 holes in 8 under and may not have missed a shot. Here is an overview of the five best shots from the tee to the green.

T3. Jim Furyk, Brian Harman, Ian Poulter and Abraham Ancer (-9): I … did not see Furyk arguing with the Players this week. I guess he has a great story here, but the man is going to be 49 in May and is not in the top 10 of this tournament since he finished second behind Martin Kaymer in 2014. Heck, he has not even beaten 70 since the last lap that year (11 laps total). Then he drops a 64 Friday? Golf, baby, the best.
T7. Jason Day, Kevin Kisner and Keith Mitchell (-8): Day made eight (!) Birdies Friday en route to his 66th birthday. All this just a week after his withdrawal from the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a few days after receiving back injections he talked about earlier this week. "I had never received injections before, so we did four injections in and around the spine, which visibly alleviated the pain," said Day. This has clearly helped since the 2016 champion has scored 12 birdies on the week, which ranks second among all birds in Ancer's rankings.
T10. Rory Sabbatini, Jon Rahm, Johnson Dustin, Ben An, JT Poston, Luke List, Vaughn Taylor (-7): McIlroy was not the only one galloping late Friday. D.J. also played the last three holes in 3 under, and another star at Rahm joined in making a bogey at 18th. Either one or the other of these types has the firepower needed to get to double the numbers on Saturday and get off McIlroy and Fleetwood.
