Shock G is honored with a celebration of life in Oakland … there is a one day tribute ahead full of good deeds and good tunes.
The longtime manager of Shock G, Atron Gregory, tells TMZ … Oakland is celebrating the Digital Underground star with a citywide event on August 21, and the day begins with the rapper’s family and friends feeding about 2,000 homeless community members.
We are told that the late Shock had a passion to support those who struggle to provide for themselves, and the organizers wanted to honor his legacy by giving back.
From there, we’re told a motorcade will drive through Oakland on their way to City Hall, which will host a Shock G tribute with live music, performances, and speakers.
The celebration will end with an afterparty at The New Parish in Oakland, with several DJs spinning tunes.
TMZ broke history … Shock G was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa in April accidental overdose.

Since his death, we are told that the surviving members of Digital Underground – which was founded in Oakland – and other musicians close to the group have come together to organize a celebration for Shock in Oakland … working with members of the Oakland City Council and non-profits in the city to make it happen.
We are also told that the event planners within Digital Underground have gained the support and approval of the Shock G family.
