TI – real name Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. – attributes his arrest Tuesday in Amsterdam to nothing more than a misunderstanding between two people who simply speak different languages.

The rapper, who claimed in an Instagram post that he was “locked up” for using his cell phone on a bicycle, returned to the United States on Wednesday. He offered quick clarification to the incident which he said was exaggerated.

“Just a slight mess, no big deal,” he told TMZ upon arriving at LAX. “Slight communication error – I couldn’t understand his dialect because he spoke Dutch mixed with English and I didn’t know he was the police.”

“It was really nothing,” added Harris, whose wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris was also in attendance. “I don’t have any details to remember, I just know all’s well that ends well.”

He claimed that when it came to his trip to Amsterdam, “everything was phenomenal”.

In his public Instagram speech, TI said the officer was “extremely upset”, but admitted it was a pleasant experience, adding that he was “not upset” by the Amsterdam incident. .

During his video, which appeared to have been filmed from a police station, TI said he was just waiting for someone to help him get his passport and a credit card to post a bond.

“They arrested me and they didn’t even handcuff me. They just opened the door and invited me to the backseat. I accepted,” he said in the video.

“Dude, let me see if I can make my bond quickly because they don’t take cash,” TI added, removing a stack of bills from his jacket. “I have money in my pocket but they don’t seem to be taking it.”
