Exclusive
Charizard has always been the most coveted holographic Pokémon card – so it’s not hard to believe someone could lose half a million for one of the rarest.
Goldin Auctions sells a 1999 1st Edition Charizard card that contains all of the cheesy fixings that geek trading card enthusiasts. Namely, this one has obtained the Gold Label Pristine 10 rating from SGC, and it is Black Diamond certified … which means it is in perfect condition. So yeah, it’s beyond value, folks !!!
The opening bid for this thing started at $ 50k, and the current bid is $ 150k … and there are still two weeks left for people to jump in.
As to why the GA honchos think their Charizard card could cost at least $ 500,000 – we’re told they’re based on a few factors. For one thing, another Charizard card with a rating of 10 was recently bought and sold in a private transaction for the exorbitant sum of $ 250,000.
Not only that, but Charizard gets a second life when it comes to interest in the younger generation – a Logan paul recently purchased a Charizard card which was also rated 10 for a fee of $ 150,000. Bottom line … we’re told the folks at Goldin Auctions believe the demand is there, and they’re counting on people losing a pretty penny for theirs.
There are only 10 people with deals on this card at the moment – but at the closing bell Goldin expects a lot more … and the price to drop to an all-time high. If it hits $ 500,000, as they hope, it would be the first time anyone has shelled out so much for a Charizard.
Of course, I have to catch them all … but you have to be able to pay them too. Bring your check books!
