Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney arrested for drunk driving

Longtime country music star Rascal Flatts guitarist Joe Don Rooney was arrested on Thursday for drunk driving outside of Nashville.

Representatives from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Department told Fox News that a deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident around 4 a.m. local time on September 9. Rooney, who had crashed into his car in the tree line, was taken to Williamson County Jail and later released after posting $ 2,500 bail. He was reportedly not injured in the accident.

The group’s representative did not comment for Fox News.

Rooney, 45, founded Rascal Flatts in 1999, along with first cousins ​​Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus. In January 2020, the group announced that they would go their separate ways after 21 years together and embark on a farewell tour, which was indefinitely postponed until May of the same year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
