EAGAN, Minn. – The Minnesota Vikings have no plans to trade left tackles for their Week 4 game against the Cleveland Browns.
Although first-round rookie pick Christian Darrisaw is a full participant in training Wednesday for the first time since undergoing groin surgery in August, the Vikings plan to keep Rashod Hill on the left tackle. .
“Rashod is our guy,” said offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. “It’s good to have Christian back in training; he’s improving. He’s only a few days old so we need to strengthen him and do it the right way. Really happy with his progress.”
Hill was given a day off for the veterans on Wednesday, but was back in training on Thursday. Darrisaw continues to train without limits and has seen his team rep count increase this week.
“Right now it’s about focusing on today, [offensive line] coach [Phil] Rauscher prepares Rashod and, in spurts, gives [Darrisaw] its rehearsals, ”Kubiak said. “Not just trying to throw it at him all at once. He didn’t have any practice, so he has a lot of catching up to do. He does a hell of a job with everything he can control. “
