Insomniac said at Gamescom last summer that Rift Apart would debut in the PS5’s “launch window”. Seven months is a pretty long window – the PS5 arrived in mid-November – but it’s possible that Sony will want to wait for the release of one of its most prestigious PS5 exclusives until the console is more readily available. for the customers.

In a PlayStation blog post, Insomniac who Rift Apart is “a whole new whole adventure” – it seems the studio has learned a lesson from last year’s unclear spinoff announcement Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Sony is offering a variety of pre-order bonuses for Rift Apart. Customers who pre-order either edition of the game can pick up the beloved Carbonox armor from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, as well as an “early unlock” of the Pixelizer shotgun from Ratchet & Clank (2016). While it’s not entirely clear, it looks like all gamers will eventually be able to pick up the Pixelizer, regardless of their pre-order status. A physical launch edition of Rift Apart will be available at select retailers in the United States and Canada; it will sell for $ 69.99 and will feature a voucher for pre-order bonuses.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Rift Apart comes with bonus Raritanium (used to upgrade weapons), five bonus armor sets and a sticker pack for the game’s photo mode. It also includes a digital art book and a digital version of the soundtrack Game.

Insomniac hasn’t revealed any new footage in a release date trailer, but the PlayStation blog post has some new information on the game.

Rift ApartThe story centers on the ever-present Dr. Nefarious and his new invention: a machine that scans alternate dimensions where he always wins against the titular heroes. Via this new device, Ratchet & Clank split up and meet the unnamed female lombax (the same breed as Ratchet). The two friends will have to work with this new lombax resistance fighter to come together across dimensions.

As for the name of this new lombax, Insomniac still won’t tell the players. But that ended the blog with what appears to be a clue, “hang in there, you’ll soon be feeling pink.” It could suggest that her name is Rose, Rosie, or something similar. Either way, fans will soon be able to start calling her by her real name, instead of just “female lombax”.
