TThe Ethics Committee of the Chamber is investigating allegations that representative Raúl Grijalva, R-Ariz, has created a hostile working environment.

The Ethics Survey on the Arizona Democrats comes four years after its committee paid nearly $ 50,000 to settle a complaint filed by an employee who claimed that Grijalva's alcohol consumption had created a work environment hostile.

Despite the 2015 settlement, Grijalva insisted that investigators would find no evidence of wrongdoing.

"I am proud of the positive and professional work environment I have worked hard to create for my staff. I look forward to clarifying the situation and fixing the problem once and for all, "said Grijalva in a statement.

Grijalva is chairman of the natural resources committee. He is also a staunch critic of President Trump and a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

His alleged alcohol abuse has already been criticized, notably by former Home Secretary Ryan Zinke, who said in a tweet that it was "difficult for [Grijalva] think directly from the bottom of the bottle. "

When asked if he had a problem with alcohol or if alcohol had caused him during his work, the congressman denied the allegations.

"I do not work drunk and have never lived in a hostile work environment," he said.
