The Ravens have announced the hires of Rob Ryan and Anthony Weaver to their defensive team. Ryan will serve as the inside linebacker coach and Weaver as the running game coordinator / defensive line coach.

In a press release, head coach John Harbaugh said the team were continuing to screen candidates for their position as defensive back coach.

“Rob is a proven NFL coach who brings a wealth of experience to the Ravens,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “In addition to his passion for the game, he has an exceptional ability to connect and teach players.

“Anthony is highly regarded throughout the NFL. As a former Ravens Draft who made a significant contribution playing here, he understands the culture of our organization and the level to which the Baltimore defense is held.

Ryan, 58, is a 20-year veteran NFL coach who most recently served the same role for the Washington football team in 2019.

Weaver is entering his 12th coaching season, including his 10th in the NFL. He played seven seasons in the NFL, including his first four seasons in Baltimore. Weaver began coaching in 2010.

Weaver was the defensive coordinator / defensive line coach for the Texans in 2020.
