Never before has Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed a game with injury, and that streak seems to continue. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson is expected to make his Week 4 debut against the Denver Broncos.
Jackson struggled with a “comeback push” for most of the week, Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday. He missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was able to come back on Friday. According to ESPN, Jackson “moved well” in Friday practice and “didn’t seem to favor his back at any time.”
The Ravens, however, classified him as questionable on Friday, leaving open the possibility of Jackson missing his very first game with injury.
Jackson should be challenged by the Broncos’ defense, which has been strong so far, allowing the league’s lowest points per game at 8.7. However, it’s worth noting that they’ve beaten the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, and New York Jets so far – not exactly world batsmen.
Jackson has faced a slightly higher team caliber so far. In three games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions, he’s averaged a career-high 83.7 rushing yards per game.
