“This move was made as a precaution to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and staff on game day and in consultation with medical experts,” the NFL said in a statement.
No kick-off time has yet been announced for the match.
The Ravens announced on Monday that several members of the organization had tested positive for the coronavirus and that all team activities would take place virtually. These members immediately began to quarantine themselves, and the team began the contact tracing process.
“We appreciate the NFL for its diligence in working closely with us to ensure the well-being of players, coaches and staff of the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers organizations,” the Ravens said in a statement. “Protecting the health and safety of each team, in addition to our communities as a whole, is of the utmost importance. We will continue to follow the advice of the NFL and its medical experts as we focus on safely resuming preparations for Sunday’s game.
The NFL is losing its flagship game on Thanksgiving, when the two AFC heavyweights were due to be the game in prime time on Thursday night.
The Houston Texans at the Detroit Lions at 12:30 p.m. ET and the Washington football team at the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. ET are still on schedule for tomorrow.
