Monday night’s edition of WWE Raw was a night of surprises and weird decisions before the show ended with a successful cash-out of Money in the Bank by Nikki ASH as she pinned Charlotte Flair to end the night in as the Raw Women’s Champion.
In addition to the shocking end of the show, Bill Goldberg returned to WWE, issuing an informal challenge to WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. Plus, NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his Raw debut, losing to Jeff Hardy in one of the weirdest moments of the night. Keith Lee also made a surprise comeback after being out of action since January, losing to Lashley before Goldberg arrived.

Nikki ASH collects the Money in the Bank contract
Charlotte Flair was out for an in-ring promo to celebrate her Raw Women’s Title win over Rhea Ripley at Money in the Bank. Ripley arrived in the ring after Flair said she could beat her any night of the week. Ripley then challenged Flair to prove it and face him in a Championship rematch later that night. This ultimately brought out Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville, the duo formalizing the match for the main event, in which case Flair kicked Ripley in the same knee she had injured the night before.
Raw Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley won. Charlotte Flair (c) by disqualification. Midway through the game, Flair took Ripley outside, hitting a cut block to hit Ripley’s knee again. Ripley managed to hit back before locking in a number four to almost score a submission before Flair could reverse the hold. Ripley hit Riptide, but Flair managed to put his foot on the bottom rope to break the pin. Flair then rolled out of the ring, grabbed his belt and tried to walk backwards. Ripley gave the chase and Flair hit her with the title belt to force disqualification, retaining her title in the process.
Raw Women’s Championship – Nikki ASH def. Charlotte Flair (c) via pinfall to win the championship. Ripley and Flair got into a fight outside the ring before Ripley hit Riptide and Nikki ASH’s music hit for an attempt to cash out Money in the Bank. Nikki went to the top rope and hit a crossbody to score the pin and win the championship, celebrating with fans as the show ended.
A shocking end to the evening with the cash-in Nikki. WWE has established a strange pattern with women Money in the Bank. Outside of Carmella, the first female holder of Money in the Bank, no other winner has hit the 48-hour mark before cashing in – or, in Asuka’s case, winning the title. Still, a moment of wellness is always welcome and you will find very few people who have a say in Nikki Cross. It will be interesting to see how determined they are to let her run instead of being a fleeting moment. Rating: B +
Goldberg confronts Bobby Lashley
Bobby Lashley won. Keith Lee via pinfall after a spear. Lashley and MVP came to the ring to say that Kofi Kingston was correct that Lashley had lost his advantage over women and champagne as he lived the good life of a champion, but Lashley was now “back in business. “. Lee responded to the open challenge and gave Lashley some time before Lashley took over outside the ring before managing to secure the victory with the spear.
After the match Goldberg’s music sounded and the 54-year-old stepped into the ring. Goldberg walked into Lashley’s face before yelling, “I’m next.” Lashley tried to reach Goldberg but was held back by MVP.
Lee looked into the match with Lashley, which could very well be ring rust. It also doesn’t make sense for Lee to return after six months away to eat a clean pin in his home country. That said, the real story here is the return of Goldberg, who will always have a pop when he appears but, as the saying goes, then the bell rings. I can’t imagine too many people looking forward to seeing another Goldberg game at this point, but it’s happening and we just have to live with it. Grade: C-
What else happened on WWE Raw?
- John Cena opened the show with an in-ring promo. Cena said he came back for WWE fans, to become the Universal Champion and silence Reigns, calling him an “asshole” who was overexposed and overexposed.
- Riddle & The Viking Raiders have won. John Morrison, AJ Styles and Omos via pinfall after the Raiders hit Morrison with The Viking Experience. Poor communication in the heels, Omos attacking Morrison and chasing Miz to ringside prepared the finish.
- Jaxson Ryker beat. Elias via pinfall in a Symphony of Destruction match after a suplex of the second rope through two tables installed on the ground. Ryker and Elias used a variety of instruments as weapons before the end of the table.
- Natalya and Tamina beat. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax via pinfall after Tamina hits Baszler with a superkick after Reginald accidentally causes a distraction. After the match, Baszler started yelling at Jax that they were unstoppable before she brought Reginald into the mix. Jax gave Reginald a hug before head butting him and leaving him in the ring.
- 24/7 Championship – Reginald has def. Akira Tozawa (c) via pinfall to win the title. Tozawa ran into the ring to escape his pursuers only to be pinned down by Reginald, who escaped the rest of the field with impressive flips.
- Sheamus def. Humberto Carrillo via pinfall after a Brogue Kick. Carrillo was struggling to get a USA title shot from Sheamus, but hit Sheamus’ steel face mask to lead to the finish.
- Drew McIntyre attacked Jinder Mahal after Mahal, Veer and Shanky were in the ring for a promo. McIntyre delivered tons of chair kicks to Mahal’s henchmen as well as a few to Mahal himself.
- Jeff Hardy beat. Karrion Kross via pinfall with a rope assisted jackknife pin. Kross was making his debut and was foiled by Hardy. After the game, Kross claimed that Hardy made the biggest mistake of his life.
