On Monday night, WWE hosted the latest pre-SummerSlam edition of Raw. In addition to pushing the final chunks of stories before the massive à la carte event, several matches have been added to the map.

Chief among those additions was the announcement that Randy Orton and Riddle – officially reunited as RK-Bro – would face Raw Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Omos. In addition, a singles match between Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie was formalized for the event.

CBS Sports was with you all night long with recaps and highlights of all the action from the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

RK-Bro officially reunites and scores SummerSlam title match

AJ Styles def. Riddle by fallen after a clash of styles. Riddle was calling on Randy Orton again to reform RK-Bro when he was interrupted by Styles and Omos. With Omos already set to face Orton, Styles and Riddle agreed to face each other in their own one-on-one match. Omos provided an out-of-ring distraction to set Styles up to strike the Styles Clash for the win. Orton left Riddle and was not at ringside for the match.

Randy Orton beat. Omos by disqualification after the intervention of AJ Styles. Omos predominantly dominated the match, using his size and strength to fend off Orton’s RKO attempts. Styles attempted to attack Orton outside the ring, but the referee saw and called for disqualification. Styles and Omos continued to attack Orton after the bell, with Omos taking Orton outside the ring and throwing him over the ring barricade. As Styles braced for a phenomenal forearm, Riddle ran to make the save, knocking out both Styles and Omos. After the match, Orton told Riddle that respect is earned, not given – but Riddle had finally earned his respect before saying “RK-Bro is back”. Riddle then announced that they would team up to take on Styles and Omos for the tag titles at SummerSlam.

Orton and Riddle continue to have strong chemistry as an odd couple. The reunion timing was one of the most well-received things on the show by the live crowd, which is always a good thing. Plus, we’re done playing, haven’t we and finally the SummerSlam title game is set. It will be interesting to see how the crowd reacts at an event as big as RK-Bro seems to be one of the most excessive acts of society. Category B

Goldberg launches Bobby Lashley

Goldberg cut a promo to end the show, featuring his son in the front row and explaining that he didn’t want his son to watch a video to see who Goldberg was, but rather to have a front row seat to see who Goldberg was. is. Bobby Lashley and MVP then interrupted and started walking towards the ring. MVP said Goldberg’s speech showed he knew he had met someone more dominant and explosive in Lashley. Lashley again vowed to end Goldberg’s career, leading Goldberg to say that Lashley’s words were “bulls —“. Lashley tried to attack but ate a spear for his problem before Goldberg and his son walked away, leaving an enraged Lashley in the ring.

Goldberg has never been very talkative and every time WWE tries to force the issue it leaves the crowd flat. This continued on Monday with this segment. Getting an ascension with a seldom-used expletive isn’t the same as fans really care what a wrestler says, and it seemed like the crowd just didn’t care about the exchange. Still, this is the game fans will be forced to watch on Saturday and the segment was set to take place. Grade: C-
