Ray-Ban and Facebook connected glasses

Ray-Ban and Facebook have teamed up to create their first pair of smart glasses called Ray-Ban Stories. Using Ray-Ban’s renowned Wayfarer styles, the two entities were able to produce a pair of eyewear that respects the style while still being able to capture everyday moments.

Frames are available in three styles which include Wayfarer, Round, and Meteor. In addition, the styles are available in five colors and additional lens options for a total of 20 possible variations. As for its features, the glasses have instant photo and video capabilities with dual 5MP cameras and LED lights on the front. To use the features, just press a button or use a simple voice command. The Ray-Ban Stories also feature built-in Bluetooth and a 3-microphone audio package, so users can make calls or listen to music.

“Ray-Ban Stories is designed to help people live in the moment and stay connected with the people they are with and those they would like to be with,” said Andrew Bosworth, vice president of Facebook Reality Labs. “EssilorLuxottica has been nothing short of stellar in this partnership and through its commitment to excellence we have been able to deliver both style and substance in a way that will redefine the expectations of smart glasses.”

Priced at US $ 299, the Ray-Ban stories are available now in select Ray-Ban stores and on the Ray-Ban website. Additionally, the glasses are available with polarized lenses for $ 329, transition lenses for $ 379, and prescription lenses, which vary in price.
